About Parkway School

Parkway School is an off site education program located in West Allis, Wisconsin that offers options for special education students in grades K-12 that require a specialized learning environment to target academic and behavioral needs. We assist students in achieving goals that will support a successful transition back to their resident district and/or pursue high school graduation and post-secondary readiness through our programs. We maintain a staff of qualified special education teachers and paraprofessionals, who are supported by a licensed administrator and certified school counselors.
What Makes Us Successful
- Small class sizes to prioritize a relationship-based approach to student engagement and learning
- An educational program specific to the individual student profile using evidence-based practices
- Identification of strategies and teaching students how to use those strategies to regulate their emotional responses to challenges
- Identification of appropriate accommodations necessary for the student to access grade-appropriate curriculum
- Providing students with effective communication strategies to access help from adults in the educational environment and community
- Supporting students, families and districts as students prepare for and undergo the transition process back to their resident district
- A focus on Academic and Career Planning which includes employability programming for our middle and secondary students
Our Goal
To work with our region's districts to provide a successful learning environment for students and their families by creating programs that meet each student's unique needs and prepare them to find success in their resident district, community and workplace.
